We the People

"You go out, do the best you can, and only the best will come. It is the people of good will who create civil societies." -- Ardyce Lee and John Fairstein

Beaver Creek Greenway

Beaver Creek extends 43 miles through Knox County, TN, passing about a half mile from where I live. A number of organizations are working together to help turn the Creek into a greenway/blueway. I'm participating in the Beaver Creek Watershed Association and cheering on the Knox County Open Spaces initiatives. Click the link to learn more.

Knoxville Beltway Opposition

The I-475 "Orange-route" Knoxville Beltway is an ill conceived plan to convert thousands of acres of rural land in Knox County into a sprawl zone under the guise of relieving traffic congestion along Interstate 40/75. Click the link to learn more. I serve on the Citizens Against the Orange Location (CABOL) Board of Directors.

Pellissippi State Technical Community College

PSTCC is a local community college with campuses in Hardin Valley, Division Street and Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville, and in Blount County. I teach in both the Photography and Computer Graphics Technology programs. I have also served as an Adjunct Faculty Representative on Faculty Council.

Hardin Valley citizen

Hardin Valley, where I live and work, is a model community not only for Knoxville and Knox County, but the entire United States. Click the link to learn why. My activities include participating as a citizen to guide updates to the Northwest Sector County and Tennessee Technology Corridor Plans.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is big fun and helps low income families own a home. Friends at the Baker Peters Cigar and Literary Society drafted me into helping build some houses out on Rutledge Pike and in east Knoxville. You learn new skills, meet some wonderful people, and help families.

A1LabArts

A1LabArts is a terrific organization open to Knoxville area artists working in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, spoken arts, video, and more. Through the A1 Artists Exchange program, area artists give studio tours and talk about their work. We regularly host exhibits at the Candy factory and other venues. I serve on the Board of Directors.

Joe Lee for Anderson County Commissioner

Joe Lee of Oak Ridge, TN is running for Anderson County Commission District 7 (Pine Valley, Highland View, Woodland). The election takes place August 3, 2006. I'm proud to support his candidacy.
